Drive along the North East Coast to the village of Toco then turn West on the North Coastline through the towns of Mission and Monte Video to the quaint fishing village of Grande Riviere. Have a local lunch at Street Culture Cuisine and relax on the soft loose sand of the Grande Riviere beach. As the twilight evening steps in see the giant leatherbacks come to shore by the hundreds. These phenomenal creatures perform an amazing natural wonder of nesting rituals. In clutches of 75 to 125, eggs are laid and buried in the soft sand where it is protected from vultures and other wild animals. A must see wonder of this world; the Giant Leatherback Turtles.
